Why the TikTok Verification Code Is Not Arriving

A missing TikTok code usually traces back to a typo in the number, a phone that filters unknown senders, or too many resend taps in a row. Work through the checks below in order, since each takes only a minute or 2. If the number is the problem, a different TikTok number from the free list is the quickest fix.

Check the number and country code

A wrong digit or country code is the simplest reason a TikTok code never shows up. TikTok splits the field into a country prefix and the local number, so typing the prefix twice breaks the match. Drop the extra zero that some countries add before the local number.

Compare what you typed with the number digit by digit. If you picked a line from this site, copy and paste it instead of retyping.

Look at signal and SMS filters on the phone

Your own phone can block a TikTok text before it reaches the inbox. Weak signal, airplane mode and full message storage all stop incoming SMS.

On iPhone, the Filter Unknown Senders option can move codes into a separate tab. On Samsung and other Android phones, the spam filter or blocked-number list in the Messages app can do the same. Restart the phone, switch the filter off for a few minutes, then request the code again. Some carriers also block automated short codes, and your carrier can tell you whether that applies to your plan.

Wait before you tap resend

TikTok may pause new codes when you request several in a short time. Texts can queue for a few minutes at busy hours, and each extra tap on Send only adds to the pile.

Give the first message a few minutes, then request one more. After several failed attempts the app can lock the form for a while, and no setting on your side shortens that pause. Stop, close the app, and come back later. Codes also expire, so type the newest one only.

Email codes you never asked for

A TikTok code email you did not request means someone entered your address in a login or sign-up form, possibly by mistake. TikTok sends the message because the address is linked to an account or was typed into a form.

Do not share the code or forward it. If you own a TikTok account, change its password and review the devices signed in under security settings. If you have no account, the message can be ignored.

When the number itself is the problem

Some numbers cannot receive TikTok codes at all, and a different number is then the working fix. TikTok may refuse a line that is already attached to another account or that many people tried recently.

A VPN, or a mismatch between the SIM country and the app store region, can also interfere. Turn the VPN off before you request the text. Switching numbers helps only after the checks above, since a typo follows you to any line.

Getting the code on a public line

On this site the code appears in the inbox of the line you used, so no personal phone is involved. Keep the number page open: it refreshes about every 20 seconds, highlights new codes, and shows each one in full for 10 minutes.

The inbox is shared, so another visitor may have requested a code on the same line, and their message can sit next to yours. Check that the text names TikTok before you type it. If a line stays silent after two requests, move to another one. For an account you want to keep, rent a private number instead.

If nothing works

When every check fails, TikTok support is the right next stop. Use the report-a-problem option in the app or the TikTok help center, and include the country, the number and the exact step where the text fails.

Signing up with an email address avoids the SMS step altogether, as the TikTok email sign-up page explains.

Fix a missing TikTok code in order

  1. Re-enter the numberUse the correct country code and no extra zero, or paste the number from the list.
  2. Check signal and filtersTurn off airplane mode, disable unknown-sender filtering, then restart the phone.
  3. Wait, then resend onceGive the first text a few minutes, then request a single new code.
  4. Try the email optionSwitch to email in the sign-up form if TikTok offers it.
  5. Switch to another numberPick a different line from the TikTok list and repeat the request.

Questions

Why is TikTok not sending me a verification code SMS?
Common causes are a mistyped number, a wrong country code, SMS filtering on the phone and a pause after repeated requests. Fix the number first, wait a few minutes, then request one new code.
Why am I not receiving a 6 digit verification code?
The 6-digit text either never left TikTok's queue or never passed your phone's filters. Check signal, unknown-sender settings and the number, then try the email option.
I received a TikTok verification code email but I didn't request it. Why?
Someone entered your email address on a TikTok form, or an old login attempt triggered it. Ignore the code, never share it, and change your TikTok password if you own an account.
Why is the verification code not coming?
Look for a delivery delay, a blocked sender or too many attempts. Wait a few minutes before the next request, since each extra tap can lengthen a pause.
What should I check when the TikTok code is not received on iPhone or Samsung?
On iPhone, review Filter Unknown Senders and any Focus mode that silences alerts. On Samsung and other Android phones, check the spam filter and blocked-number list in Messages.
Why does TikTok reject the code I typed?
Codes expire, so use the newest message in the feed or inbox. Type the digits without spaces and check that the text really comes from TikTok.
How many times can I request a TikTok code?
TikTok does not publish a fixed number. After several requests the app pauses new codes for a while, so stop and retry later.
