ChatGPT asks new accounts to confirm a mobile number with a 6-digit code sent by text, and you can read that code in the inbox of a public line from the list above. The page refreshes about every 20 seconds, and each code stays visible for 10 minutes. OpenAI limits how many accounts one number can verify, so a line that many people have already used may be refused.
No ChatGPT codes arrived in the last 7 days; any online line can still be tried.
What arrives
Codes are shown in full for 10 minutes, then partly masked.

ChatGPT sends a 6-digit text message to the mobile number you enter during sign-up, and the account activates after you type that code back.
OpenAI asks for the email address first and the phone number second. The same phone step has appeared when people create an API account on the OpenAI platform. Because OpenAI limits how many accounts one phone number can verify, the rule matters for every shared line.
You open the list above, copy a line from a country where ChatGPT is available, and enter it on the verification screen of your new account.
Choose text message as the delivery method, press send, and watch the number page. It highlights the new message as soon as the page refreshes. Type the code into ChatGPT before 10 minutes pass, because later the digits are partly masked.
OpenAI caps the accounts per phone number, so a public line that others already used for ChatGPT can be refused with an error.
Our lines are real mobile numbers from a telecom provider, not VoIP ranges, which removes one common reason for rejection. It does not remove the account cap. If a line fails, pick another from the ChatGPT platform page, which lists lines that recently received OpenAI codes. When no text shows up at all, the ChatGPT code troubleshooting page lists the checks.
A public number belongs on a throwaway ChatGPT account and never on one with a paid plan, saved work chats or API billing.
The inbox is shared, so a stranger who opens the same page can read your code, and only SMS is supported. For an account you plan to keep, a private number receives codes only for you. If you would rather skip the phone step, the ChatGPT without a phone number page lists the official options.
A private number receives codes only for you — re-login works whenever the app asks again.
